Upcycling – Lantern from plastic bucket

Make a lantern out of a recycled plastic bucket or jam jar and decorate it with decoupage varnish and tissue paper.

1 Tear the paper into small, oblong pieces – and have plenty ready before starting with your decoupage.
2 Apply decoupage varnish with a brush and place a piece of paper on top. Now, smooth out with the brush from the centre outwards to prevent air bubbles and creases.
3 Repeat step 2 until the bucket is covered. Also place a piece on the edge and let it dry.
4 Only use the plastic bucket with LED candles – never real candles.
