How to do lock stitch in embroidery

Lock stitch, also sometimes called back stitch, can be used to embroider lines and small details. Put up the needle from the back in the same place as you began sewing from the front. Then put up the needle in front of the first stitch. Make a continuous line like this one here – or make spaces between the stitches so it becomes a dotted line.
