Make colourful floral designs on both white and black watercolour paper. Create beautiful, fluid transitions with watercolours, add depth and texture with oil pastels and for the finishing touch, use a marker to highlight the details. The designs don't have to be perfect, but can have a slightly random look.

How to do it
1 Fill the water brush with water.
2 Take a black piece of watercolour paper and dip the paintbrush into the white paint.
3 Paint a background with white watercolour paint, which will make the colours stand out even more. You can draw whatever design you choose or copy the design shown in the picture.
4 Apply several layers of the white watercolour paint if desired and allow to dry.
5 Clean the brush.
6 Dip the brush in the pink colour.
7 Paint with pink wherever you want.
8 Clean the brush.
9 Dip the brush in the blue colour.
10 Paint with the blue colour wherever you want.
11 Clean the brush and then dip it in the yellow paint.
12 Paint with the yellow colour wherever you want.
13 Clean the brush and dip it in the green paint.
14 Paint with the green colour wherever you want and allow to dry. In this example, green is used for the stems of the flowers.
15 Once the paint has dried, place the painting under a book or other heavy item, preferably overnight.
16 You can now draw with the white oil pastel wherever you want.
17 Draw whatever details you want with the black fine liner.
18 Finish by drawing details with the black oil pastel.
19 Now take a white piece of watercolour paper and your clean water brush and paint flower-like dots across the paper.
20 Dip the water brush in the pink colour.
21 Apply pink paint to the flower-like dots you just made with water and let the paint flow into them.
22 Clean the brush.
23 Now dip the water brush in the blue paint.
24 Make small flower-like dots with the blue paint.
25 Clean the brush.
26 Dip the brush in the yellow colour.
27 Paint the middle of the pink flowers with the yellow paint.
28 Also paint small flower-like dots with the yellow colour.
29 Clean the brush.
30 Dip the brush in the pink paint.
31 Paint pink dots in the middle of the blue flowers.
32 Clean the brush and dip it in the green paint.
33 First paint the stems with the green colour.
34 Next, paint the leaves with the green colour. Allow the paint to dry and place the painting under a book or other heavy item, preferably overnight.
35 Draw details with the fine liner.
36 You can also make small dots in some of the flowers with the white oil pastel.
37 A nice effect can also be created by shading the surface slightly with the white oil pastel.
