Jewellery with black agate beads

Create these irresistible jewellery pieces with agate, infused with empowering energies and delicate striped patterns. The necklace has knots between each bead for an elegant finish, while the gorgeous hoops have a bead pendant. Agates are said to boost confidence, strength and intelligence.

How to do it
Necklace Melt the end of the polyester cord over a flame.
2 Squeeze the end between two fingers to make threading the beads easier.
3 Start by threading a carabiner onto the cord.
4 Make a gathering knot just below the carabiner – make a loop with the short end of the cord and then wrap the cord around it.
5 Finish by threading the end of the cord through the loop.
6 Tighten the knot by pulling the end that is threaded through the loop.
7 Cut off the excess cord, melt the end over a flame and press the melted end flat against the knot.
8 Plan the order of the beads and combine different sizes and colours. This is even easier if you have a bead board to place the beads in.
9 Thread beads onto the cord all the way up to the carabiner.
10 Tie a knot under the first bead after the carabiner.
11 Insert a darning needle through the knot and into the hole in the bead.
12 Tighten the knot, slide it off the cord and pull it all the way up against the bead.
13 Tie a new knot after each bead.
14 Finish the row of beads with a knot.
15 Tighten the knot after the last bead.
16 Thread the end of the cord through the first chain link in the chain extender.
17 Cut an extra piece of 15 cm cord and use it to make a gathering knot around the two cords. Make a loop with one 5 cm end and one 10 cm end.
18 Wrap the 10 cm cord around the loop five times, starting at the far end of the loop.
19 Finish by pulling the end of the cord through the loop.
20 Tighten the knot by pulling on the end of the cord that was threaded through the loop.
21 Cut off the ends.
22 Cut off the ends 3 mm from the knot.
23 Melt the three ends over a flame. Press each melted end flat against the knot.
Hoop earrings with bead pendant -
1 Select a bead to hang from the earring and put it on a head pin.
2 Use round nose pliers to make a loop and then bend the wire around 3 mm above the bead.
3 Attach the bead to the earring by attaching with the loop on the head pin to the eyelet on the hoop.
4 Wrap the wire 2-3 times around itself just below the eyelet and down to the bead. Cut off the excess wire using wire cutters.
