How to do it: Wash the jar well using soapy water prior to immersing it in paint to avoid greasy marks etc. being visible.
Pour a blob of your chosen colour glass & porcelain paint in the bottom of a bucket.
Pour a bit of water into the bucket and stir well with two bamboo sticks. Stir until the paint is fully dissolved.
Dip your jar in the paint solution once or twice.
Place the jar on the two bamboo sticks whilst making the solution thinner.
Pour more water into the bucket and stir well.
Dip the jar deeper into the paint solution.
Continue like this until you are satisfied with the number of coats of paint on the jar.
Leave the jar to dry for a while. You may now decorate the jar further with Pintor markers.
Paint circles on the lid with the different colour solutions using a soft brush.
Tip When decorating an empty ceramic jar (i.e. without wax inside), fix the painted jar in the oven once decorated. This makes the paint resistant to drying out. If you choose to decorate a jar with wax inside, then wait to fix the jar until the candle has burned down. You can now use the jar for storing knick knacks. Fix in the oven for 30 minutes at 160°C.
