A Terracotta Tile decorated with Terrazzo Flakes

1   Apply a generous coat of decoupage lacquer and let it penetrate into the porous tile. Immediately apply another coat on top.

2   Sprinkle terrazzo flakes onto the wet decoupage lacquer. Only carefully sprinkle a single thin layer onto the wet lacquer.

3   Pick up individual flakes with the wet brush.

4   Place the individual flakes strategically. Make it look as natural as possible and not too evenly distributed.

5   Apply decoupage lacquer on top. Leave it to dry and apply another coat.

6   For a durable surface, fix the decoupage lacquer in the oven at 130°C for 30 minutes.

7   You may attach self-adhesive silicone dots onto the back. That way the tile will not scratch table tops when laid flat.
