Cut out the template which is available as a separate PDF file on this page and copy onto fabric. Cut out, adding a 0.5 cm seam to the top edge of each petal as shown in this photo.

Cut a piece of fabric for the background the same size as the front of the greeting card. Attach all the small parts of the design onto the large piece of fabric with pins or double-sided adhesive tape.

Sew all the parts onto the fabric using a handheld sewing machine. Lift the fastening plate and place the fabric underneath the fastening plate. Sew around each petal 4-5 times towards the right. You may sew the stitches randomly. NB: Never pull on the fabric, let the machine do the work. Secure by inserting a needle with the thread onto the back and feed the thread through the last loop. You may secure with a knot.

Sew on the centre of the flower.

Sew a stem for the flower by sewing up and down several times. You may use a contrasting colour thread for the stem. Also sew along the left side of the large piece of fabric, approx. 10-12 mm from the edge (you cannot sew on the left side with the handheld sewing machine once the fabric section is secured onto the front of the greeting card).

Attach double-sided adhesive tape onto the back of the large piece of fabric and attach it onto the front of the greeting card.
