A varnished Terracotta Eggshell with Marker Drawings
#v14084
Children's intuitive and natural intelligence is enhanced by this creative project when making something grow. Children's ability to predict what will happen when the decorated eggshells are sown is stimulated. Children's natural intelligence is enhanced by the subsequent germination process as they learn that water, heat and light are necessary for plant growth.
How to do it Download the templates/recipes
1 Varnish the outside of the eggshell with decoupage lacquer for glass and porcelain. (This ensures that the surface becomes saturated, so that the marker pen drawing adheres better and becomes more durable in use). Leave to dry.
2 Draw and colour in according to your imagination. Use a black outliner and different coloured marker pens; both glass and porcelain types.
4 Once the plant pot has cooled, plant the plant pot. Use soil for sewing eg. runner beans, sunflowers, tomatoes etc. Follow the instructions on the packaging for the different varieties.
5 A TIP: to speed up the germination – like in a green house – place a transparent plastic cup over the plant like a lid.
